Meet the #teamPhoenix - Kerry Rousell

Here at Phoenix we are proud of every member of our team. Whether they're in the office or on-site, everyone works tirelessly to ensure that the overall stability and success of Phoenix is always at the highest level.

As we continue to introduce members of our wonderful team and give you the chance to know more about them, including some stories and advice.

This week we have Kerry Rousell, who has recently been promoted to Group Finance Director! She is an important member of the team and we are delighted to learn more about her in meet the #teamPhoenix!

How long have you been at Phoenix for, and what do you enjoy about your job?

I joined Phoenix in December last year. The best part about my job is the variation the role brings. No two days are the same. I really enjoy the fact that I get to work with every department and how knowledgeable and helpful everyone is.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

I always wanted to be a Midwife when I left school and looked into training again in my 20’s, but Finance has always been where I belong and I’m glad I stuck with it.

Describe one of your favourite memories from your career?

Probably my favourite memory was when I was completing my Qualifications. I can remember my boss at the time being so pleased he wanted to have my certificate framed and put on the wall. Gladly we didn’t because I would have been so embarrassed, but it was a nice feeling that he wanted to celebrate all the hard work with me.

Share the best piece of advice that anyone has ever given you?

I wouldn’t say there was one specific piece of advice really, but I was very lucky to have the best mentor last year. I was able to learn in a short space of time from all his years of experience and that has proven invaluable.

List three things on your bucket list?

I’ll bet most people do these on a typical weekend, but I have never ridden a horse or motorbike, or been to a festival, so it would be cool to tick those off.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Me and the hubby have always wanted to travel when we are older so there isn’t one spot I’d like to go as I’d like to visit many places, there’s too many to list. Maybe I could do it on a motorcycle or horse back and work down the bucket list at the same time.

And finally, what does being part of #teamPhoenix mean to you?

I am so grateful to be part of #teamPhoenix, not only do I love my job, but the people I am lucky enough to work with are just brilliant.
