Meet The #teamPhoenix - Zoe Butlin

Here at Phoenix Brickwork/Drywall/Scaffold, we are proud of every member of our team. Whether they're in the office or on-site, everyone works tirelessly to ensure that the overall stability and success of Phoenix is always at the highest level.

Last time, Site Manager Neil Finch told us about his attempt to sing Dizzee Rascal with 'On The Tools' which went viral.

Up next is Administration/Office Manager, Zoe Butlin.

How long have you been at Phoenix for, and how have you progressed in your time here?

I’ve been a part of #teamPhoenix for nine months, but although I’m a new starter this year it feels as if I’ve worked here much longer which can only be a good sign! I enjoy my job and working with such a great team.

I joined Phoenix as the Administration/Office Manager and over the past few months have also undertaken Christian’s PA Work and Events. It’s good to progress, learn and get involved in other areas of the business which is interesting and rewarding.

What was your background in the industry before Phoenix?

I graduated in Industrial Design and had a 12-year career working as a Lighting Designer and Account Manager, sourcing Domestic Lighting Products from China (chandeliers, outside lighting, table lamps etc) and distributing them to DIY and High Street retailers within the UK market (Next, B&Q Homebase, The White Company, John Lewis etc).

Since then, I’ve had experience in the Manufacturing Industry within Marketing, PR, Accounts, Procurement and providing PA & Management Support.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I have an interested in Holistic/Complementary Therapies, running, cycling, eating and drinking with friends and family, travelling - seeing new places, new holiday destinations and I love a spa and hot tub.

I started some personal training before lockdown and my ‘training lockdown’ hasn’t ended yet, so I’m aiming to resume that soon!

What's the best project you've been part of?

I haven’t been at Phoenix very long but the biggest and most enjoyable project I’ve been a part of recently was organising a personal event for family & friends (100 guests) for Christian, in eight weeks. It was a pleasure to be asked to organise such a special event and be able to Project Manage and Co-Ordinate all the details and get creative!

Do you have any funny stories on-site that you'd like to share?

None specifically, however there isn’t usually a day that goes by where we don’t have a giggle in the office!

What would you say to those looking to get into the industry?

I’d say go for it! Construction is a industry new to me and it’s a great to be a part of. It’s fast-moving, diverse and if you have the aptitude and drive there are plenty of opportunities and potential for a fantastic career.

Here at Phoenix, colleagues are dedicated, work hard and are down to earth, friendly and fun.

And finally, what does being part of #teamPhoenix mean to you?

I’m proud to be a part of the Phoenix Team and enjoy working with various teams/staff at all levels throughout the business. It’s good to have a job where you like coming to the office in the morning and being part of a small, successful, forward thinking company with a ‘family feel’.

It’s a company where you can make a difference, give your personal contribution and where your efforts are always recognised.
