In Collaboration with Charles Henshaw & Sons Ltd, Phoenix Drywall was appointed to deliver the full façade package at the new Sheffield Hallam University Campus development for BAM construction.
The project centred around the design and installation of a bespoke Kingspan insulated panels steel frame system (SFS) oversail system. This innovative solution provided the structural framework to support both the brick slip and curtain walling finishes, contributing to sleek, modern aesthetic while maintaining robust structural performance.
As part of our comprehensive scope of works, our Drywall/SFS team was responsible for the installation of British Gypsum Glasroc X sheathing board, the application of fire-rated OBEX Cortex EPDM, and the integration of Rockwool Insulation Slab.
Our brickwork team were also on site, completing a range of masonry works to support the full façade delivery. Maintaining the high standards of finish expected across all elements of the build.
The architectural design, led by BDP Architects, combined contemporary design with functionality. Creating an inspiring and efficient space for students and staff alike.
This award-winning project was recognised by the FIS Contractors Awards, where Phoenix Drywall UK Ltd proudly took home the Steel Frame Systems Award. Managing Director Dave Newbold Commented “The positive impact on the local community and the strong client satisfaction further underscored the project. The judges likely recognised our dedication to not only meeting but exceeding client expectations and our contribution to the educational infrastructure in Sheffield”
