Phoenix Drywall is proud to be approaching completion on the refurbishment of 57 Rutland Street in Leicester, a significant city centre project being delivered in partnership with Torsion Group. This development is not only a vital part of the ongoing regeneration of Leicester’s Cultural Quarter but also marks a major milestone for Phoenix – representing the largest drylining contract secured to date, valued at £4 million.
This project involves the transformation of the existing structure into 472 student bedrooms, providing high quality, student accommodation in a prime city centre location. Phoenix was appointed to deliver the full internal Drywall and Ceilings package across all levels of the building. Midway through delivery, Phoenix was also awarded the load-bearing Steel Frame System (SFS) package – a key addition to the project scope.
This allowed for the construction of the brand-new seventh floor, increasing the building’s accommodation maximising the available space. Our team carried out the design and installation of the SFS Structure to meet all required standards and regulations.
As the internal works draw to a close, Rutland Street stands as a testament to the scale and quality Phoenix Drywall is capable of delivering. The project stands as a meaningful contribution to the revitalisation of Leicester City Centre. This is a project we are proud to have been a part of.
