Phoenix were originally appointed on a supply and fix basis to construct section B1 of the Castleward development in Derby city centre. B1 is a 5 storey apartment block more akin to commercial brickwork contractors than residential contractors given the interfaces with steel and high rise nature. However, with our works progressing so well and the NHBC stating ‘B1 shall be used to benchmark all other construction in the area’, Lovell decided to remove the existing residential brickwork contractor from B5, a standard housing development, and use Phoenix for all masonry on the scheme. Phoenix have since been awarded a number of volume housing projects by national housing developers.
